Our favourite tour is a combination of the Panama Canal and Rainforest, a tour you should not miss, being in Panama. This combination allows you to experience the best of nature and the Canal in one day. Add different activities to make your journey even more fascinating.

All presented tour prices are based on a minimum of 2 participants willing to share a tour. Solo travelers are welcome.

All our tours go along the Canal, if you just want to know the Canal, we can tailored your tour.

Optional: On the way back to your hotel, you can have a closer look to the Canal sites and be dropped off at the Visitors Center of the Miraflores Locks.

All tours are 8 hours. Extra hour is $10 per hour per person.

 

Drive along the Canal “Canal by car”
We will be driving parallel to the Canal, where you see the Miraflores and the Pedro Miguel Locks, the Centennial Bridge over the Culebra Cut of the Canal, the French Cemetery, Soberania National Park, the Chagres River, the railway, the dredging division, and the small pretty town of Gamboa at the begin of Gatun Lake. (45 min. per way).

If you just want to do the Canal, we can add to this tour, more places to visit of the former canal zone.

Rainforest Walk in Soberania National Park

Our early and easy morning walk offers you excellent opportunities to see rainforest mammals and is great for bird observation. The tour gives you an insight to the great diversity of the rainforest ecosystem.

4-6 hours of walking and observation, or

Boat Tour with wildlife observation at Gatun Lake

After an easy 2-3 hour walk in the rainforest we continue to explore the area with our boat tour on the Canal and Gatun Lake. Starting in the center of the Canal, where Gatun Lake is still narrow, you can witness ongoing expansion works of the Canal such as dredging, widening and straightening the curves.
Further down, the lake gets bigger and we explore its many bays and islands. Along the beautiful rainforest shores you have good opportunities to observe some mammals such as Mantled Howler Monkey, White-faced Capuchin Monkey, Geoffroy’s Tamarin Monkey, Two- and Three-toed Sloth, birds such as Osprey, Snail Kite and water fowl, reptiles like Green Iguana, Jesus Christ Lizard, River Turtle, Spectacled Caiman and American Crocodile. Bypassing ships are a contrasting addition to this excursion. (2.5-3h)

If you would like to explore by kayak the rainforest shores for wildlife and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Gatun Lake, we can take kayaks along on the boat tour. You might even see a big Neo-Panamax ship from your kayak. (1 hour by boat and 3 hours by kayak).
